Because the maximum size of a file that can be stored on FAT32 is 4GB. The only solution is to copy to a file system that can stores files of that size (like NTFS). If copying a folder does the same, try splitting into two folders or more with each under 4 GB in size and copy one by one. Also, you may not have enough disk space or very little memory.
