WirelessGet Software Launches Under New Management

Posted by Admin on Feb 27, 2009 - 01:29 AM

After more than a year, the WirelessGet site is live again with a new interface and design (still populating it though). After a long wait, we now have launched WirelessGet 1.3 which is a new version, the old version. This version is completely Free software and includes the user license, not a lot of changes except some minor cosmetic face lifts and of course removed the 30 day restriction.

As our main aim when we took the venture over was actually the domain name and the site, however, we made an effort in at least updating the software and now made it free to download, why shelve it when it is a useful software.

We inherited the software accidentally, after checking it out, it turned out to be quite useful to be modest and in some cases a life and time saver.

WirelessGet allows you to copy and transfer shared files and folders quickly over networks such as Wi-Fi / Wireless LAN a.k.a WLAN. Those networks can be unreliable due to signal loss and bandwidth restrictions etc. It solves the problem of copying or transferring files using Windows Explorer which often fails due to the size of the file and instability of the network. It also works great for copying files and folders from one location to another on local hard drives, or removable drives such as USB, CD-R(W)/DVD.

Main Features:

- Copy files and folders with Resume capability.
- Use write cache to protect your hard disk driver.
- Monitor clipboard, drag&drop support, easy for use.
- Shutdown when finished.
- Copy folder with filter.

The WirelessGet site will have some interesting resources on the Wireless & Telecom Industry, so stay tuned, meanwhile enjoy the new version. For best results, before installing the new version, uninstall the old one.

The next version which is due in few months or later, will be a complete rewrite and altogether different. We are already looking for candidate programmers to help design and rewrite the next version, if you feel up to the task, get in touch (email below)!

Download it here and check it out, why not when you can keep the $29 now it's free. Meanwhile we'll continue to setup the site, the forums mainly first as we need your input and help in building a wireless community!

Enjoy!
